Introduction
The Nepalgunj transit home was founded in the year 2000 and is located at Nepalgunj Sub Metropolitan City, Ward No. 15. It covers the areas of Salyan to the North, Dang to the East, and Bardiya to the West. In the South, it shares a border with the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Major Achievements
MN Transit Home Nepalgunj Intercepted 509 children and women and handed over them to their families from the border checkpoints.
- 2 cases of Human Trafficking case were registered at the District Court of Banke.
- 12 survivors were rescued from India.
- 2,421 vehicles were inspected at Nepal-India Border.
- 662 missing cases were reported to the Transit Home out of which, 278 were found and reintegrated into their families.
- 12 cases of domestic violence were reported to the Transit Home. Out of which 7 cases were solved in favor of applicants and 5 were referred.
- Shelter support was provided to 524 girls/women. 208 of them were below the age of 18 and 316 of them were above the age of 18 during the year.
- 2,880 migrants were provided information against gender-based violence, unsafe migration, and anti-human trafficking at the Nepal-India border.
- 529 women and girls received psychosocial counseling in the year 2022.
