Empowering Vulnerable Children through education

At Teresa Academy, we strive to provide comprehensive educational and developmental opportunities for vulnerable children, particularly girls, who face challenging circumstances such as orphanhood, abandonment, economic hardship, and the risk of trafficking.

School Overview

Established on April 2, 1998, Teresa Academy began with Nursery, Kindergarten, and Grade 1 classes, welcoming 45 students. Our core mission has always been to foster the development of orphans, semi-orphans, and children at risk, who often struggle to access education, care, and protection. We place special emphasis on economically disadvantaged girls, who are particularly vulnerable to trafficking in their communities. Regular Students: 365, with 12 students in the Chhahari class (a bridging class that helps out-of school girls return to formal education).

Current Status

  • Total Students: 377, with 90% girls and 10% boys.
  • Regular Students: 365, with 12 students in the Chhahari class.
  • Living Arrangements: While most students live in Maiti Nepal’s Child Protection Center, others come from surrounding areas.

Many of these children come from difficult backgrounds and face uncertain futures. Access to quality education serves as a pathway for them to break the cycle of poverty. The academy focuses on empowering these young girls through education, helping them overcome their challenges. The school provides high-quality education through a dedicated team of qualified teachers, who work to create enriching learning experiences. With a focus on nurturing growth, Teresa Academy offers an intellectually stimulating environment where students can reach their potential and work towards brighter futures.
