Rescue and Aftercare Project-2

Operation Locations: Kathmandu and Jhapa

This initiative combats human trafficking and sexual exploitation by providing rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration services. It ensures survivors receive care, protection, education, and life skills to rebuild their lives and achieve independence

Key Activities

Investigations & Rescues (Aug–Dec 2024)
• 121 investigations conducted; 7 rescue operations carried out across 13 locations in Kathmandu Valley.
• 46 individuals rescued (28 minors, 18 adults), mostly from dance bars; 3 minors rescued from spa/massage centers.
• Operations conducted jointly with the Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau through undercover surveillance.
• The majority of rescued minors (17 out of 28) were from Bagmati Province; the average age was 16, with the youngest being 13.

• A total of 26 individuals—18 girls and 8 boys—were intercepted at the Jhapa border, with one case forwarded for prosecution.

Aftercare & Shelter Support
• Survivors provided with temporary shelter, counseling, basic needs, and emotional support.
• Most stayed approximately one week at the shelter before further interventions.
• Repeated counseling sessions were conducted to help survivors open up and share accurate information.
